At Watson Ellis all of our options are extremely hands on. We are not a tech company looking to sell you on virtual fitting. Some of the most important measurements are taken while talking to the client and touching the body. We also believe in having clients FEEL the different kinds of cloth. Quality cannot be understood just by looking at an image. Our approach is truly creative tailoring, we do not have many limitations on what we can do.

LEVEL 1: Handmade Custom

Our Handmade Custom suits are crafted using your measurements alongside our proprietary suit sizing system to achieve a refined, well-balanced fit. Each garment is made by hand and offers hundreds of design combinations, allowing you to create something personal, considered, and distinctly yours.
This level is ideal for clients who want a beautifully made suit with thoughtful customization and expert guidance throughout the process. You can explore design options with us or select from curated looks in our studio if you prefer a more streamlined experience.

Handmade Bespoke introduces the muslin fitting, a hallmark of true tailoring.
Before cutting your final fabric, we create a test garment to refine fit, balance, and proportion directly on your body.
While especially valuable for complex fits, many clients choose this level simply because they want the best possible outcome, particularly for their first suit or an important moment. This process allows for a level of precision and personalization that elevates the final garment from custom to truly bespoke. -
LEVEL 3: Bespoke Original Design

This process starts with a conversation of concept to sketch and can include (almost) anything your heart desires. For a complex original work of tailoring art with a higher cost that covers the time to create and propose the design, source the fabric and supplementary materials, make the muslin(s).
This level includes the bespoke process of a muslin (test garment) explained in “Level 2” and sometimes multiple muslin’s. This process can take up to a year to complete and will require multiple visits to the studio. This is what true couture and bespoke is.

Because we offer a wealth of tailoring and design experience. Melissa, our founder and head designer, has fit and design in her blood. Since she was a teenager she has had her own prominent line of sewing patterns. She has also worked in the NY fashion industry as a designer for the last 12 years, 8 of which have been spent in the custom suiting business. She knows how to fit and design to unique bodies better than anyone.
